How I Like to Slow Down Time

I know I'm not the only one who notices just how quickly time passes. Even more so it seems since I had my son. It's hard to even comprehend that 2 1/2 years have passed and I can't just stop him from growing up on me. The tiny little infant that rested perfectly in my arms, sleeping soundly, is now a curious wee man who wants to do everything on his own. Luckily though, he still likes to sleep snuggled into me. I wish that never had to go away.

But back on topic. Time seems to slow down so drastically when I break out the stroller and take him down to the beach. No cell phone, no distraction, just me, the bear and the sounds of the waves as it hits the beach. There is also a beautiful walking trail running the whole length of the beach, that The Bear just loves to explore . I do believe its all the Internet based  gimmicks we consume our lives with, that makes time fly by us at such a rapid pace. Sometimes though, it's just nice to escape it all, and go back to the basics of life.

Reusable Swiffer Cover

When I stumbled upon this idea, I thought it was genius! I'm a huge Swiffer fan, but buying pads can get costly over time, and cause unnecessary waste. http://cleaninginspiration.com/motivation/swiffer-sweeper-crochet-pattern/ is my favorite link for the free pattern. Personally, the ruffles were more for looks and prefer mine without. But lovely idea for any Swiffer-loving person. I would like to add, I think it also cleans better too :)

Yard Soup

The Bear and I were needing some fresh air and a new idea to occupy us. So I filled up a inflatable basin with water, collected some rocks and utensils, and we headed outside with our pail to collect things around the yard for our "Yard Soup". Something so simple, but kept him happily content for a good little while. We then brought some to our neighbor, who happens to be our Grandma, and let her try some. He was delighted to see her "slurping" and loving his creation.

The Space Invader Blanket-Work in progress!

A dear friend of mine loves old Nintendo pixel art. I am making a replica blanket of the wall art he has made for me. This is the progress. This is the first blanket I have ever made, so it is bound to have flaws, but thus far, I'm loving the outcome. If anyone is interested in making one, I added the the graph I am using. Will keep you updated on the progress!
